Day 6: Initial Success with Take Shape for Life! January 26, 2008

I finally got on the scale today. I tried to resist yet another day, but just couldn’t. And it was good news! I am down 9 pounds in just five days. I can’t see any difference yet, and I can’t really tell any difference in the way my clothes fit, but it’s still really exciting to see some progress.
Starting weight – 260.
Current weight – 251.
Lost so far – 9.
Still to go – 86.
Today was kind of a strange day as far as the meals go. Most days so far I’ve found myself sort of watching the clock, waiting for the next mealtime to come up. It seemed like I was just on the edge of really being hungry by the time it got here. But today was different. Today I was really surprised how quickly they seemed to come around. Many times I was eating when I wasn’t really even feeling hungry yet. It seems my stomach is getting used to the new pattern, the new sized meals, and isn’t complaining as much… which is really nice.
I tried the hot chocolate today and found it to be really pretty good… especially considering what a cold day it is today. It really hit the spot!
I’m going to try not to weigh again until my first full week is done in a couple of days. Knowing that I’ve already got nearly ten pounds off, I’m hoping for twelve total in the first week. That is over 10% of the way to my goal weight… in a single week! Pretty stinkin’ cool.
